Architecture of a maturity model for information systems in higher education institutions: multiple case study for dimensions identification

Higher education institutions (HEIs) are complex and dynamic organizations in terms of information management, forcing their systems to respond enormous challenges threats. In order evaluate the HEIs’ systems, we propose development a maturity model capable supporting role HEI’s managers, as well accreditation agencies, assessment these thus, promoting continuous improvement. this paper, present discuss our proposal for an architecture being developed. This one is based on two-dimensional composed vertical horizontal dimensions. We selected multi-case study approach, five Portuguese HEIs, reviewed literature identify case was supported by interviews with experts from HEI. The results research work were both encouraging promising amongst interviewed experts, revealing high level acceptance general architecture, positive expectations about its usefulness future. carried out following formal methodology specially designed support construction type model.
